The British Institute in Eastern Africa (BIEA) and Uganda Elections Research Network (UERN) are organizing a workshop on Thursday 29 July 2021 to discuss cutting edge research on Uganda’s 2021 presidential, parliamentary and local government elections.
We welcome papers on a wide range of topics around the elections. This includes, but is not limited to: analyses of state-society relations, the workings of key state and non-state institutions (including political parties, the election administration, police, judiciary, election observers, religious organizations and civil society), strategies of political mobilization, public opinion and voting behavior, political impact of COVID-19, levels of democratization, and comparative work with other countries.
If you would like to present a paper at this workshop please submit a title, an abstract (300-500 words), and short bio (maximum 200 words) to Prince Guma (prince.guma@biea.ac.uk) by Friday 11 June 2021. All presenters will be given approximately 15 minutes to discuss their paper.
